Philosophy

Safety shouldn't announce itself.

Most alarms shout. Ours burns slowly, like an ember — warm when someone is following you, cold otherwise.

Apple's detection fires hours late, if at all. Big-brand scanner apps upload your scans to the cloud and monetize the data. We thought both were unacceptable. Obsidian does one thing — notice the tracker — and does it on the device, for your eyes only, in a form you can hold in a closed fist.

Silent.

No audio alerts. Haptic only, in the palm.

Local.

No network, no account, nothing to subpoena.

Lasting.
